The role

As a Programme Manager, you will support the successful delivery of engineering projects for a wide range of global customers across various industries. Working alongside experienced engineers and project leaders, you’ll help coordinate project activities, manage timelines, and ensure effective communication between internal teams and clients.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to agreed standards, supporting both technical and commercial outcomes, while developing your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers on assigned projects, building strong working relationships.
  • Support the planning and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with Ricardo’s project management processes.
  • Work with engineering teams to understand project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assist in developing project plans, identifying resource needs, and tracking progress against milestones.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and risks, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Coordinate communication between internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare regular project updates and reports for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and supporting process enhancements.
  • Support change management and scope control activities in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Deliver excellent service to both internal and external customers.

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in project or programme management within a technical or engineering environment.
  • Proven experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel).
  • Working towards or holding membership with a professional body (e.g., APM, PMI) is desirable.
