Fife Council is looking for a proactive and skilled Project Manager to join our Structural Services team, to lead the management and delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the region. This includes Structures, Coastal, Harbours and Flooding.

You’ll play a key role in delivering these projects through design, tendering and construction and will be expected to work collectively and individually on the delivery of these projects.

Although a high level of mental agility is evidently required, this work will also be physically demanding at times as it will require site work such as inspections and construction supervision. This may include working adjacent to live traffic, in inclement weather and lone working.

The Person

Desirable criteria of educated to SCQF level 9, which includes an honours degree of civil or structural engineering or equivalent.

You will have good communication skills and be able to transfer these in different circumstances e.g. dealing with members of the public, contractors and team members. You should be a good team player and have the ability to lead and drive projects forward unsupervised to meet deadlines, with input from supporting team members when required.

The applicant should also have excellent knowledge and experience of the construction industry and in particular civil engineering infrastructure and contract management, as well as detailed knowledge in health and safety legislation.
