The Matrix Programme is a transformation initiative involving 9 Departments (listed at end). It is a unique cross-government collaboration that will unlock simpler, better, and more joined up working by bringing together the systems, processes, and ways of working for key government functions such as HR, Finance or Procurement, commonly known as Shared Services.
The Programme is part of the Shared Services Team, a fantastic team passionate about improving the existing shared services experience for DSIT and its partners whilst working todeliverthe strategic objectives of the new Government Shared Services Strategy!
We will deliver the Government's three overarching objectives for shared services:

Key Responsibilities
Short Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Matrix Delivery Hub team to work in support of the Head of Delivery Management and Senior Project Manager. This role is in a fast-paced environment, working alongside a wide range of stakeholders, consultants and technical specialists to design and implement enhanced business services for HR, Finance, Payroll and Procurement.
This role provides support and insight to the Senior Project Manager and Head of Delivery Management, acting as the source of all key programme information. You will have a confirmed background in PPM methods with an eye for detail to make sure things happen when needed. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable with persuading and influencing others and presenting information to a variety of colleagues and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Managing and maintaining the detailed project plan to capture future deliverables and identify detailed activities in collaboration with stakeholders. The project plan will be used to actively manage and track the progress of all project activities.
Identify opportunities for streamlining processes and implementing best practices to drive efficiency within the Delivery Hub .
Manage the scheduling and co-ordination of critical workshops across the current phase of the plan, with stakeholders from across the programme, departments and systems integrator/Delivery partner.
Compile and submit regular project status & milestone reports .
Proactively develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders .
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, including the central PMO, department teams, project team members, and any other relevant parties .
Management and maintenance of the RAID log for the Delivery Hub, assisting in the development of mitigating actions, ensuring project governance structures are robust.
Oversee Project Support Officer activities and responsibilities providing mentoring where required.
Provide support to the Head of Delivery Management and Senior Project Manager as required.
Essential Criteria
Proven experience in project management within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Effective communication and engagement skills – the project supports a wide range of activities, building and maintaining relationships with colleagues at all levels, offering constructive challenge when required .
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering outcomes.
Prioritisation skills – the ability to manage multiple work activities and to change priorities quickly as required.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring thorough planning and execution.
A confirmed background in PPM methodology .
P2 practitioner, MSP or Advanced MSP.
Desirable Criteria
Applicants will ideally have experience of working in a shared service environment, but this is not essential to the role.
Experience working within cross-government or public sector programmes.
Previous involvement in a project, Corporate Services, particularly HR, Finance, Procurement or Digital would be useful but is not a requirement.
It would be desirable to hold one of the following qualifications:
APM Project Fundamentals .
APM Project Management Qualification.

Office attendance
