Project Manager Job Description

The Project Manager runs projects of any size in an efficient and effective manner, responsible for their delivery within agreed timescales, budgets, and conformance to requirements. This role includes the efficient utilization of staff and third parties, ensuring all activities adhere to the company's quality standards and processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and manage assigned projects, keeping stakeholders informed about progress.
  2. Develop and agree on project plans and Statements of Work with clients.
  3. Monitor project progress against plans and budgets, addressing issues proactively.
  4. Track costs and maintain awareness of ongoing problems to meet objectives.
  5. Manage project team members and third-party vendors, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
  6. Assess and report risks and issues, applying change control processes.
  7. Maintain project documentation, including decision logs, change logs, and configuration management.
  8. Publish and maintain project dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
  9. Coordinate validation, verification, and release activities to ensure quality.
  10. Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and other team members to ensure deliverable quality.
  11. Handle customer feedback and escalations to ensure satisfaction.
  12. Participate in resource management and capacity planning.
  13. Contribute to improving project delivery methodologies and practices.
  14. Manage subcontractors and work orders in collaboration with finance and purchasing departments.

The Person:

  • Proven track record in delivering software implementation projects, including full lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and Microsoft projects.
  • Successful delivery of large-scale projects exceeding 750 man-days.
  • Experience managing teams of over 10 staff.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Project, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Certifications such as Prince2 Practitioner or APM preferred.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, VSTS, TFS, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Specialization in ERP or CRM projects, preferably with Microsoft technologies.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce professional documentation and presentations.
  • Flexible, discreet, and focused on meeting deadlines and standards.
