Job description

Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 depending on experience

Rhino Civils Ltd is looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our growing team and manage a number of current and upcoming schemes across the Midlands.

This is a key role within the business and we are specifically looking for someone with proven UK water industry experience and a strong background in delivering civil engineering infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from mobilisation through to completion, taking ownership of programme, resources, commercial performance, client relationships, quality and overall delivery.

Our workload includes regulated water infrastructure and associated civil engineering works across multiple sites throughout the Midlands.

Applicants should have strong experience across areas including large diameter pipework, water mains, drainage, sewers, highways, ducting, utilities, deep excavations, temporary works and FRC structures.

Rhino Civils Ltd is based in Ilkeston, with numerous live and upcoming schemes throughout the Midlands. We are therefore ideally looking for someone based within the Midlands who is comfortable travelling between projects as required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple civil engineering projects across the Midlands
• Take responsibility for projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover
• Manage Site Managers, engineers, direct labour and subcontractors
• Develop and maintain project programmes and ensure key milestones are achieved
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontract resources across projects
• Manage client relationships and attend progress and commercial meetings
• Monitor project performance, productivity, costs and programme
• Work closely with the commercial team to manage variations, change and project performance
• Identify programme, commercial and operational risks at an early stage
• Ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with specifications, drawings and client requirements
• Maintain strong standards of quality, health and safety and environmental compliance
• Ensure accurate project reporting, forecasting and progress information
• Support Site Managers and delivery teams to resolve technical and operational issues
• Represent Rhino Civils professionally with clients and stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven Project Manager experience within UK civil engineering
• UK water industry experience is essential
• Experience delivering regulated water infrastructure schemes
• Strong experience with pipework, drainage, sewers, highways, utilities, ducting and FRC works
• Experience managing multiple projects or schemes simultaneously
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and resource management
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project cost control
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships
• Good understanding of temporary works and complex civil engineering activities
• Relevant construction and management qualifications
• Full UK driving licence required
• Salary of £55,000 to £65,000 depending on experience
