Job description

A leading provider in the design, manufacture, and installation of subsea umbilicals, power cables, and intervention systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee all aspects of cable testing and termination activities, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Role Purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and delivery of cable testing and termination operations across offshore and onshore projects. The role requires strong coordination with engineering, manufacturing, and site teams to ensure that testing and termination works are delivered on time, within budget, and to required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all testing and termination activities for assigned cable projects (HV, MV, or fiber optic).
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, QA/QC, and site teams to develop and execute test plans.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Oversee FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and commissioning activities.
  • Plan and manage resources, including subcontractors, technicians, and test engineers.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and changes; implement corrective actions where required.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including test reports, schedules, and method statements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies during all testing and termination activities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients during testing and termination phases.
  • Support commercial teams with technical input for tenders, bids, and project proposals.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in project management within the cable manufacturing, subsea, or HV cable installation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/MV cable testing (VLF, AC, DC, partial discharge, etc.) and termination methods.
  • Understanding of subsea and/or offshore cable systems and standards (e.g., IEC, CIGRÉ).
  • Track record of delivering projects within schedule and budget.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project or equivalent project management tools.

Desirable:

  • PMP/PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
  • Offshore experience and valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, GWO).
  • Experience with subsea cable lay vessels and offshore operations.
