Job description

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in delivering engineering-focused construction projects, particularly in power and energy infrastructure?

My client is a forward-thinking, commercial organisation that delivers value-added power engineering services to private network owners, Embedded Generation investors and carbon-reducing organisations. Their capabilities cover full project lifecycles across design, installation, commissioning and maintenance – including a growing pipeline of microgrids, battery storage, hydrogen/gas generation, and large private network developments.

They deliver projects for a diverse client base including DNOs, private commercial customers, NHS, airports, and large manufacturing organisations.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will lead a portfolio of construction projects from point-of-sale through to customer handover and financial close. You’ll take responsibility for the safe, high-quality and efficient delivery of multiple schemes – typically ranging from £5m to £15m in value – while maintaining excellent client relationships and driving repeat business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery teams to ensure work meets scope, timeline, quality and budget targets
  • Develop and communicate Construction Phase Plans, quality specs and risk control measures
  • Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations and Health & Safety standards
  • Be the main point of contact and escalation for customers, site and office teams
  • Manage 3 to 20 live construction projects and provide weekly progress reports
  • Take commercial and operational lead for 1 to 5 subcontractor service contracts
  • Identify efficiency opportunities across contractor/supplier relationships
  • Ensure delivery excellence, including customer satisfaction, site cleanliness and quality
  • Support future business growth by identifying leads and helping to price and draft tenders
  • Represent the Engineering or Resources Manager where required

  • Proven experience leading engineering-based construction projects, including materials and site resource coordination (essential)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project or similar planning tools (essential)

  • Committed to gaining (or already hold) a recognised project management qualification (essential)
  • Strong understanding of LV and HV system components, plant and equipment (desirable)
  • Excellent communicator with strong numerical and stakeholder management skills (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Additional training certificates such as PASMA, IPAF, SMSTS, ECS, or Confined Space (desirable)
  • NRSWA accreditation (desirable)

What’s on Offer
