Job summary

CPC Project Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Transport & Infrastructure team in Manchester. You’ll deliver highways improvements, bus infrastructure and local authority schemes across the North West, taking ownership from development through delivery including business cases and funding applications.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Transport & Infrastructure team in Manchester, delivering highways improvements, bus infrastructure, active travel and local authority transport schemes across the North West.

You’ll take ownership of projects from early development through to delivery, including business cases and funding applications, working with clients and multidisciplinary teams to turn transport priorities into successful, investable projects.

The work goes beyond infrastructure. You’ll help deliver schemes that improve connectivity, widen access to jobs and services, support sustainable travel and create safer, better-connected communities.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll provide proactive, commercially aware project leadership across the full delivery lifecycle.

• Establish project objectives, delivery strategies, programmes, budgets, governance and reporting
• Coordinate business cases, funding submissions and investment approvals, bringing together technical, financial and programme inputs
• Manage cost, programme, risk, change and quality
• Procure and manage consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Lead project meetings and workshops, resolving issues and maintaining momentum
• Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and maintaining clear, timely and consistent communication with clients, contractors, local authorities, funding bodies and delivery partners throughout the project lifecycle
• Support community and stakeholder engagement, ensuring local needs, social impact and wider benefits inform project development
• Provide clear reporting and advice to support effective decision-making
• Oversee projects through key stages from feasibility and design to procurement, construction and handover
• Support client engagement and the continued development of CPC’s North West Transport & Infrastructure business

What we’re looking for

• Project Management experience within transport or infrastructure sectors
• Ideally experience of highways, bus, active travel or local authority schemes
• Experience supporting business cases and funding applications
• Strong programme, cost, risk and stakeholder management skills
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams
• Strong client relationship and communication skills, ideally within a local authority or public sector environment
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
• A relevant professional qualification or progress towards chartership would be advantageous
