Job summary

Equans is recruiting a client-facing Project Manager to cover Manchester and North Wales on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role is full-time (37.5 hours weekly) with hybrid working, a company vehicle or allowance, and a competitive benefits package.

You will manage FM project works from 35k to 1M, liaising with stakeholders and delivering end-to-end project management while ensuring CDM 2015 compliance and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a client facing project management role is essential.
  • Experience in FM industry is highly desirable.
  • Confident communicator with ability to balance stakeholders, client and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with stakeholders to define requirements and feasibility.
  • Work with developers, designers and sub-contractors to document scope.
  • Develop full scope of works aligned with budget and margins.
  • Manage tenders and perform tender analysis of sub-contractor returns.
  • Ensure CDM 2015 compliance across works.
  • Identify and manage statutory and commercial project risks.
  • Embed EQUANS SHEQ practices in each project.
  • Oversee day-to-day ops end-to-end including estimating and site duties.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for effective implementation.
  • Ensure written customer acceptance and payment schedules.
  • Maintain project documents and provide monthly reports.

Job description

Equans is looking for a Client Facing Project Manager to join our team covering Manchester and North Wales on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

Working on a prestigious government account the post holder will be responsible for managing variety of FM project works from 35k-1M.

The role requires site visits in and around Manchester and North Wales. The role offers hybrid working.

We are looking for an experienced, client facing project manager, ideally within experience within the FM industry. A confident communicator able to balance the needs to all stakeholders, client and suppliers.

Candidate Required To Obtain BPSS Clearance Prior To Commencing
What will you deliver?
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on their requirements and explain feasibility of their schemes to become a trusted advisor
  • Work with developers, designers and sub-contractors to define and document scope(s) of work(s)
  • Develop and understand the full scope of works in line with the desired project business case and in turn outcome. This is to be within agreed budget requirements and required profit margins
  • Manage, run and draw up tenders on behalf of the customer as required. Carry out full tender analysis of all sub-contractor returns
  • Ensuring all project works are compliant to CDM 2015
  • Identify, reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project they are leading
  • Ensure EQUANS SHEQ practices and processes are fully embedded in each project
  • Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) “end to end”. Activities to include but not be limited to estimating, business development, quantity surveying, sub-contractor management and site manager duties
  • Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s)
  • Ensure customer acceptance is adhered to, in writing and in line with the project plans
  • Mutually agree payment schedules and applications for payment to the benefit of the project and the business
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current and appropriately stored
  • Provide timely monthly reports to the Head of Projects/Sector Director in an agreed format

Who are we looking for?
  • Previous experience in a client facing project management role is essential, with technical knowledge in MEP services being ideal
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage own administration tasks
  • Champion of CDM regulations – Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations including the Duty Holders and their responsibilities as well as the CDM requirements of each stage of a project i.e. Pre-Construction, Construction and Handover. Understanding of the Building Safety Act and the Building Regulations, including the use of the Competent Contractor Scheme for self-certification of installations and projects.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand commercial and financial metrics
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines and present with confidence
  • Ability to track multiple projects simultaneously, whilst maintaining our Project Management System to ensure accurate reporting and visibility of key data
  • Fully competent with Project Management methodology
  • Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
