Job description

Ionic recruitment are currently looking for a Project Manager on behalf of our client.

Introduction:
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the fit-out of restaurants across the Manchester area. This role is available on either a permanent basis (with a salary of £55,000 plus company car) or freelance (£300 per day). The ideal candidate will have specialist experience in catering fit-outs, including the installation of catering equipment and fridges, with a solid understanding of commercial kitchen layouts and drawings.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Manage restaurant fit-out projects from pre-construction through to handover.
2. Oversee the installation of catering equipment, ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timelines.
3. Read, interpret, and deliver projects in line with kitchen and catering-specific technical drawings.
4. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
6. Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure expectations are met and issues resolved promptly.
7. Monitor project progress, costs, and quality, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
8. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience managing catering and kitchen-focused fit-out projects.
2. Strong understanding of catering systems, commercial kitchens, and relevant installation requirements.
3. Ability to interpret catering equipment and kitchen layout drawings.
4. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
5. SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certification preferred.
6. Full UK driving licence.
7. Based in or around Manchester or willing to travel within the area.
