Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Delivery team with a Project Manager based in Testwood with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, and your role will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of contracts to ensure they are completed efficiently, to specification, within the required time, and within the tender estimate, without compromising health and safety, while ensuring good customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Promoting exceptional safety and quality standards among the workforce.
  2. Ensuring the implementation of the Building Management System (BMS) throughout the project.
  3. Maintaining good relationships with clients at all levels.
  4. Upholding the company's reputation through positive relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
  5. Ensuring adequate trained personnel are available and aware of their responsibilities.
  6. Planning projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and monitoring project delivery.
  7. Preparing and approving detailed construction plans and method statements prior to activities.
  8. Completing and maintaining records referred to in the PEP at project completion.
  9. Reporting site non-conformities and estimating associated costs.
  10. Managing all commercial aspects proactively with accurate forecasts and estimates.
  11. Possessing detailed knowledge of project management from conception to end-user acceptance.
  12. Participating in external networking, conferences, and industry groups for professional development.
  13. Undertaking other duties as reasonably required, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
  14. Presenting a professional image in all internal and external contacts and maintaining positive relationships.
  15. Understanding and implementing quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets.
  16. Satisfying customer requirements to enhance satisfaction.
  17. Maintaining technical knowledge related to water and wastewater projects.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Project management experience in multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, preferably in the water industry.
  • Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering discipline.
  • Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, especially NEC and/or IChemE.
  • Experience in project delivery and risk management.
  • Working knowledge of CDM and health & safety regulations.
  • Civil engineering background.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Chartered status in an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
  • NEC Project Manager Accreditation.

Technical competencies required at an advanced level include contract management, governance, budgeting, risk management, project planning, digital delivery, procurement, solutions development, stakeholder management, resource management, change management, and quality management.

Behavioral competencies at an advanced level include communication, collaboration, client focus, results orientation, integrity, trust, respect, coaching, feedback, and leadership.
