About the Role
The nominated Project Manager at T Vaughan Ltd will have main responsibilities including:
- Programme planning to ensure the project is scheduled in sufficient detail for the site team to deliver without delays.
- Procurement and reconciliation of materials in accordance with company procedures to ensure value and prevent delays.
- Ensuring site teams' compliance with company commercial policies and procedures.
- Attending tender, handover, pre-start, and progress meetings as required.
- Ensuring correct commercial engagement of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Regular and timely communication of relevant information to the Contracts Manager / Operations Director.
- Weekly reviews of progress, budget, resources, and forward planning, with lookahead programmes in place.
- Chairing and/or attending meetings, producing accurate records, minutes, and distributing them as necessary.
- Acting as Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) in line with BS 5975:2019 and company procedures, demonstrating industry best practices.
- Notifying the Principal Contractor of intentions to use subcontractors and ensuring temporary works appointments are in place.
Health, Safety, and Environmental
- Leading by example to promote HS&E procedures and ensure legal and company compliance.
- Allocating HS&E responsibilities, providing training, and checking understanding.
- Investigating accidents or dangerous occurrences and recommending prevention measures.
- Ensuring adequate resources and welfare facilities on site.
- Reprimanding staff or subcontractors for safety failures.
- Ensuring design calculations for temporary works are checked and appointing designers as needed.
- Maintaining personal safety standards, including wearing appropriate PPE during site visits.
- Managing construction sites and subcontractors, ensuring procedures are followed.
- Keeping HSE documentation up to date, including toolbox talks, statutory checks, and briefings.
- Conducting senior management site inspections and reporting to HSQE Director.
- Having knowledge of CDM2015 and other relevant legislation.
- Performing other related acts and tasks as reasonably requested.
- Preparing project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements, including rescue, traffic, and waste management plans.
Quality
- Producing and maintaining ITPs, O&M manuals, and QA files.
- Promoting best practices and issuing QA documentation promptly.
Technical Queries
- Producing, recording, and updating RFIs aligned with the construction programme.
- Having excellent knowledge of construction practices related to drainage, rebar, etc.
- Recognizing unsatisfactory work, ceasing operations, and resolving issues promptly.
- Reviewing project specifications and applying value engineering appropriately.
Client Relations
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients and external customers.
- Performing other tasks as reasonably requested by senior leadership.
