Are you ready to play an important role in project managing the delivery of programmes relating to Decent Homes, Planned & Cyclical Maintenance, Complex Responsive Repairs and Retrofit works on the housing stock in one of London&s most ambitious and diverse boroughs?

Redbridge Council is looking to recruit 3 x Project Managers who will be the key individual responsible for preparing, coordinating and delivering capital schemes or term contract work to Housing Stock and related assets.

About The Role:

As Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with the LBR&s strategic objectives. You will be managing budgets, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and supporting Section 20 consultation with leaseholders for all major works.

Overview Of The Role:

  • To lead projects and implement programmes of work to meet the objectives of the LBR&s Asset Management Strategy and Delivery Plan.
  • Organising and supervising the teams on a day-to-day basis to deliver allocated projects, within time, cost and quality constraints and to LBR&s business plan targets.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of multi-year capital programmes, ensuring optimal use of resources.
  • Manage project budgets, including financial reporting and cost control for projects exceeding £10m annually.
  • Prepare and agree valuations, variations, post inspections, and final accounts.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including building control, planning, and safety regulations
  • Ensure effective and timely leaseholder engagement in relation to Section 20 consultation.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress and performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including preparing bid documents and evaluating proposals.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future project delivery.
  • Ensure continuous communications are conducted with Tenants and Leaseholders
  • Support the Capital Programme Manager in their role as the council&s advisory lead, providing advice and expertise.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data retained in relation to relevant contracts.
  • Lead on all day-to-day aspects contract management supporting the work of the Programme team.

About You

  • Property or construction related degree, professional qualification or substantial demonstrable experience in construction related project management.
  • Familiarity with housing legislation, including the Housing Act and Landlord and Tenant Act and Decent Homes Standard & Section 20 Consultation.
  • Ability to plan, manage and monitor projects and programmes of work, including ability to act on own initiative and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop creative and innovative ideas and solutions, and to exploit new $ùsmarter& ways of doing things, to achieve goals.
  • Personal and professional demeanour which commands the confidence of colleagues, customers, Board Members, Councillors, external partners and other stakeholders, and able to establish positive relationships.
  • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams effectively, prioritising own workload and to defining, specifying, managing and monitoring challenging project outcomes and goals.
  • Experience of managing and controlling budgets and information systems.
  • Negotiating skills developed in a partnering environment centred around achieving satisfactory outcomes and value for money.
  • Good level of IT skills for analysis and to present information to a high standard.
  • Good numeracy, written and presentational skills and an ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Ability and experience in preparing regular statistical and written summary reports and KPI&s for managers and senior managers on progress and problems against targets and objectives.
  • Experience of achieving performance indicators and Key Performance Indicators.
  • To actively contribute towards the effective and efficient provision of quality services in response to enquiries from both the public and service departments.
  • Collate and act on feedback to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Involve tenants and leaseholders in the development of programmes and service delivery.
