About the Project

My Client is undertaking the structural refurbishment of a 1920's listed manor house with a retained façade on all four sides. The scheme involves significant temporary works, complex structural interventions, a new steel frame, and associated groundworks.

Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong structural background to lead this challenging refurbishment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing complex structural projects, particularly involving retained façades, listed buildings, and temporary works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of the project from inception to completion, ensuring programme, quality, and cost objectives are met.
  • Manage and coordinate all structural works, including temporary works design, steel frame erection, and groundworks.
  • Oversee health & safety compliance on site in line with CDM regulations.
  • Liaise closely with structural engineers, architects, heritage consultants, and the wider professional team.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring technical standards and quality benchmarks are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and provide clear communication to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the protection and integration of the listed building's retained façades throughout the works.
Key Requirements
  • Strong track record in structural refurbishment and complex temporary works.
  • Experience with listed buildings, retained façades, and heritage-sensitive construction.
  • Background in steel frame and groundworks delivery.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets/programmes effectively.
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black/White), First Aid qualifications desirable.
