This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join a main contractor with a family-oriented environment. Our client specializes in various sectors across Civil engineering and is now looking to expand their team to bring in an experienced and enthusiastic individual to help deliver a Roads and Highway Infrastructure Scheme in Suffolk and Essex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee site staff, operatives, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare method statements, hazard and risk assessments, and project management plans.
  • Understand tender allowances and track contract performance against budgets.
  • Plan, prepare, and monitor work programmes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Select, assess, and manage subcontractors.
  • Manage contracts to ensure timely delivery and profitability.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the career development of junior staff.

Skills Required

  • Proven experience with a principal contractor, ideally on highway or road infrastructure projects.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading, motivating, and directing others effectively.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, holding a relevant industry qualification (HND, HNC, or BEng, or equivalent), an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, CSCS card, and temporary works coordinator certification.
  • First Aid at Work certification and familiarity with NEC contracts are advantageous.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
