Job Description

What Are We Looking For?
Through our continued project awards and strong order book, Saftronics is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join us on a permanent basis in our Leeds office. A specialist business in the MCC and power control sector, you’ll work alongside an established team to deliver control system solutions to the water industry, including the management of asset replacements for control systems across the UK.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

  1. Project liaison from enquiry stage to final acceptance and documentation. Meeting with clients to discuss specific requirements and carry out site surveys as required.
  2. Instructing, directing, controlling, and allocating work to Trade Operatives & Apprentices, with attention to quality, productivity, and safety.
  3. Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of design and/or construction.
  4. Interpret and check drawings, specifications, and schedules for all activities.
  5. Directing works accordingly & preparing final documentation (As Built Drawings etc.).
  6. Early identification and resolution of non-conformance within both the design and construction phase.
  7. Manage the design of systems and products, ensuring alignment with design specifications and technical aspects.
  8. Procurement of goods and services.
  9. Preparation of estimates and quotations.
  10. Completion of contract documents.

What Do You Need?

  1. Qualified to an HNC/HND/Degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Demonstrable experience in managing systems integration, or a knowledge of MCC processes would be highly advantageous.
  3. Experience in NEC3 or NEC4 contracts would be advantageous.
  4. Prince2 Qualification would be advantageous.
  5. Experience in managing programming of projects, utilising Microsoft Projects.
  6. Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment.
  7. Innovative thinking, with an ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  8. Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  9. Experience in the water industry is highly advantageous but other specialist engineering industries will be considered.
