About the role

Join Our Team as a Project Manager with Balfour Beatty Highways!

Are you an experienced Project Manager within Civil Engineering that is looking for an exciting new opportunity? This might be the role for you! We are thrilled to offer a great opportunity for a skilledProject Managerto join Balfour Beatty Highways on theConcrete Step Barrier project. You will be required to be on site a minimum of 4 days a week inMicklefield, Leeds.

Role Purpose:

As aProject Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing construction activities on the project, including team briefings, RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements), workforce management, and subcontractor coordination. You will also oversee site managers, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

What you'll be doing

Some other key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver projects to time, cost and quality targets and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and sustainability standards.
  • Ensure that project plans and schedules are robust to optimize resources and timelines and communicate them effectively to the team.
  • Manage subcontractors, monitoring attendance and progress, and providing guidance to achieve contractual targets.
  • Collaborate with internal/external design teams and consultants, supporting project deadlines as required.
  • Assist in people management and resourcing for the project.
  • Actively manage customer relationships, overseeing changes and decisions to align with project expectations.

Who we're looking for

What we are looking for:

  • Proven Leadership - Track record of delivering multi-disciplinary projects/teams safely, on time, and within budget, while motivating and managing site teams and subcontractors - value £20m upwards.
  • Relevant experience working within the highways sector or major project @Agent level or above.
  • Academic - Desirable chartership status / Degree qualification in either civils or construction management.
  • Strong Commercial and Programme Awareness - Ability to develop and monitor project schedules, control costs, and manage changes while aligning with contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration - confident communicator who can chair meetings, handle client interactions, manage issues diplomatically, and build trust.
