Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd in Wakefield is seeking a Project Manager to lead structural steel and stairs projects from contract through delivery on site across the UK. You will coordinate site teams, manage programmes and ensure safety and quality across installations.

Applicants should have previous project management experience in construction, CSCS and SMSTS/SSSTS, a full UK driving licence, and readiness to travel up to four nights a week.

• Control programmes, contractual documentation, orders, bonds and warranties.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Attend UK-wide site visits and meetings.

Project Manager - Structural Steel & Stairs

Location: Wakefield Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Company

Some steel projects are about far more than putting a frame together.

This specialist business designs, fabricates and installs highly engineered steelwork, staircases and balustrade systems - from one-off applications through to complex multi-site installations.

With projects taking you across the UK, they're looking for a Project Manager who can take ownership of their allocated projects and make sure what has been designed and fabricated gets delivered safely, commercially and to the standard the client expects.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for projects from the management of the contract through to delivery on site, working closely with teams across the business and the people responsible for getting the work installed.

• Own the day-to-day Project and Contract Management of projects within your allocated cell.


• Manage site teams and works, making sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.


• Coordinate Site Supervisors, Project Surveyors, Commercial, Drawing Office and Production teams throughout the project.


• Control programmes, contractual documentation, orders, bonds and warranties.


• Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.


• Attend UK-wide site visits and meetings, with regular travel and stays away from home required.

The Candidate

You’ll already have experience managing construction projects and be comfortable taking responsibility for people, programmes and delivery.

You’ll need:

• Previous experience in a similar Project Management role.


• Construction experience is essential.


• CSCS card.


• SMSTS or SSSTS.


• Full UK driving licence.


• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.


• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.


• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away up to four nights per week.
