NHS is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver Trustwide digital projects within the Innovation and Transformation Team. You will partner with the Senior Programme Manager to drive from inception to closure, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.

Responsibilities include maintaining governance, scheduling resources, managing risks and communicating with stakeholders to realise benefits and ensure successful transition to Business as Usual.

Qualifications

  • Recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2 or MSP) or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Ability to write clear specifications and project documentation.
  • Experience delivering large-scale digital health projects.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a resource-lean environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the owner of specific projects from start to closure, including post-project reviews.
  • Maintain project governance with a robust audit trail and project boards.
  • Collaborate with programme teams and PMO to schedule resources and manage budgets.
  • Engage stakeholders internal and external to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Define work packages at planning to ensure scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Ensure controls to maintain service quality and transition projects to Business As Usual.

Job description

The Senior Project Manager is a key member of the Innovation and TransformationTeam. Working with the Senior Programme Manager, this role will lead and manage projects and project elements within the Trustwide digital programme portfolio. This will include the End-to-End life cycle from inception to closure of larger often Trustwide, highcomplexity, challenging and/or highly sensitive projects. The role is responsible for matrix management of identified project team who are responsible for the definition and delivery of the Digital projects. The teams could consist of: o System suppliers o Key project stakeholders o Technical resources o Clinician and non-clinical staff o Partner providers o People Participation o Project staff responsible for the implementation of key ITIL processes such as Knowledge Management and Change and Service Asset and Configuration. Main duties of the job Act as the overall owner responsible for specific projects including project start, development of the project plan, implementation, transition to business as usual, project closure and post project reviews of larger often Trustwide, high complexity, challenging and/or highly sensitive projects. o Responsible for maintaining the projects governance arrangements to ensure a robust audit trail of project outputs, outcomes and benefits exist by establishing and leading a project board structure reporting to the relevant Programme Manager and relevant project boards. o Work closely with the programme teams, senior PMO specialist,DigitalOperations Teams, Digital leadership team and other project managers within the Innovation and Transformation Team, to ensure all new projects are scheduled appropriately and have the appropriate deployment, test and release resourcesforecast, budgeted and scheduled. o Ensure effective engagement and communication with all relevant stakeholders both internal (such as clinical and nonclinical) and external (such as people participation, partner providers and suppliers). o Responsible for the definition of work packages needed to deliver a project and ensure that these are identified at the planning stage so they resources can bescheduled for work requirements. o Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate controls are put in place to maintain the quality of services and ensure projects are successfully transitioned into "Business As Usual"

Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential
