Your World in Hertford is seeking a Locum Product/Project Specialist to support a complex Pathology Partnership Programme. The role focuses on technical project management support, ensuring documentation is accurate, and keeping the Programme Lead informed of progress and risks. The postholder will work closely with the Programme Lead.

Location is Hertfordshire with hybrid/remote flexibility. Duration is 3 months with potential extension; start ASAP.

• Work collaboratively with technical teams, suppliers and clinical stakeholders.
• Coordinate multiple technical and operational interdependencies across pathology systems and the EPR environment.

We are looking for a Product/Project Specialist to support a complex Pathology Partnership Programme. This is a technical project management support role for someone comfortable working alongside technical teams, maintaining programme documentation and ensuring the Programme Lead remains informed of progress and risks. The postholder will work closely with the Programme Lead.

Duration of booking: Expected to last 3 months with possible extension

Proposed start date: ASAP

Pay Rates: £30.53 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay

Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm Hybrid/remote working

Experience / Skills

• Experience supporting healthcare IT or pathology system programmes.
• Good understanding of technical documentation and system implementations.
• Ability to participate confidently in technical meetings and understand complex discussions.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple dependencies and keep senior stakeholders informed.
• Knowledge of pathology systems such as WinPath, ICE (Order Communications) and laboratory information systems is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities / Outcomes

• Support delivery of the Pathology Partnership Programme.
• Maintain and manage technical project documentation.
• Attend technical design and delivery meetings, capturing actions, decisions, dependencies and risks.
• Provide regular updates to the Programme Lead on progress, issues and key decisions.
• Work collaboratively with technical teams, suppliers and clinical stakeholders.
• The programme includes several significant technical initiatives and dependencies across pathology systems and the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) environment:
• Upgrade from WinPath 5 to WinPath Enterprise.
• ICE (Order Communications) upgrade and reconfiguration.
• Integration and dependencies with HSL's HiLIS/Lab system.
• Coordination of multiple technical and operational interdependencies across pathology systems and the EPR environment.
• The role is not responsible for project management or governance. It provides essential technical and programme support by ensuring documentation is accurate, actions are tracked and technical discussions are effectively captured.
