Job description

Due to continued expansion, a new opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to oversee a substantial capital expenditure programme over the next 5-10 years and beyond. This role is suitable for someone experienced in a similar environment or an emerging project management professional seeking the next career step. The company is a large, successful business involved in producing and supplying high-quality sand and related products across various sectors in the UK. Your role will contribute significantly to the company's capital investment plans and support its growth ambitions.

As Project Manager, you will:
  1. Create and develop detailed project plans, define tasks, set schedules, assign resources, and oversee execution.
  2. Coordinate documentation across multiple projects, including requirements, agendas, notes, and actions.
  3. Coordinate site activities with commissioning, technical, and site staff.
  4. Identify potential risks, assess impacts, and develop mitigation strategies.
  5. Monitor progress, track milestones, and implement corrective actions to stay on schedule and within budget.
  6. Manage budgets to ensure work is completed within allocated resources.
  7. Implement quality control processes to meet standards.
  8. Act as a central communication point to facilitate effective information flow.
  9. Ensure compliance with site rules and health & safety standards.
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
  1. A hands-on approach to project management.
  2. Formal qualifications such as APM, PMP, PMQ, CAPM, or Prince2 are desirable but not essential.
  3. Proven success in leading teams to deliver extensive capital expansion projects on time and within budget.
  4. Exposure to the quarrying industry is advantageous but not required.
  5. A continuous improvement mindset.
  6. Experience with budgeting and financial responsibility.
  7. A service delivery focus.
  8. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with multiple teams and functions.
In return, you will receive:
  • A salary of GBP55,000-GBP60,000 plus car and benefits.
