Job description

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for your next freelance opportunity in infrastructure? We're seeking a skilled individual to lead a range of highways, town centre improvement, and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) projects for a reputable civil engineering contractor operating across Surrey.

Role Overview:

As the Project Manager, you'll take ownership of key projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. You'll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholders, and drive project performance.

Responsibilities:

·Lead the delivery of highways and urban infrastructure schemes
·Manage ITS installations including traffic signals, CCTV, and VMS
·Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, and supply chain partners
·Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration
·Ensure HSEQ compliance across all project activities
·Report progress to senior management and clients

Requirements:

·Proven experience delivering highways, public realm or ITS projects
·Background in civil engineering, infrastructure, or similar
·Strong stakeholder and site management skills
·Knowledge of NEC or similar contract forms
·Valid CSCS card, SMSTS or equivalent
·Excellent communication and organisational skills
