Job summary

Pangaea Data Limited is seeking a Project Manager to lead life sciences and healthcare projects from engagement to delivery. You will bridge clients with technical, clinical, and commercial teams, ensuring clear objectives and on-time outcomes.

You will work closely with clients to understand goals, manage expectations, and translate requirements into actionable plans, leveraging AI/NLP knowledge and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• University qualification in Life Sciences, Biomedical Informatics, CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, deliverables, and timelines.
• Experience in biopharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, research, or technology sectors.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial client engagement through to delivery, acting as the key link between our clients and our technical, clinical, and commercial teams. You will work closely with clients in the life sciences, biopharmaceutical, healthcare, and research sectors to understand their objectives, challenges, requirements, and priorities, and translate these into clear and actionable plans for our internal teams. A significant part of the role is face-to-face client engagement. You will build trusted relationships with clients, lead meetings and presentations, manage expectations, identify concerns early, and ensure that clients feel heard, informed, and well supported throughout the project. You will also need to understand our products and technology at a sufficiently high level to communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of AI, NLP, biomedical science, and healthcare will help you understand client needs and effectively bridge the gap between domain experts, clients, and technical teams. Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are well planned, clearly communicated, delivered on time, and aligned with both client expectations and company objectives.

Key technical responsibilities

• Client relationship management: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients in life sciences, including biopharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers. Understand their objectives, challenges, pain points, and priorities, and act as a trusted point of contact throughout the project.
• Client Requirements and communication: Clearly understand and document client requirements, translate them into actionable information for the technical and clinical teams, and communicate product capabilities, limitations, and progress clearly to clients. Ensure communication is appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project ownership and delivery: Own the day-to-day management of client projects, including defining clear objectives, timelines, milestones, deliverables, responsibilities, and dependencies. Track progress and ensure that agreed actions and deliverables are followed through to completion.
• Client expectations and issue management: Proactively manage client expectations around scope, timelines, deliverables, and potential limitations. Identify risks, delays, and blockers early, and handle client concerns, disagreements, and difficult conversations professionally and constructively.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with technical, clinical, sales, marketing, and other internal teams to ensure projects are well coordinated and clients receive a consistent and high-quality experience. Coordinate the preparation of presentations, grant applications, posters, research papers, publications, and other project materials where required.
• Feedback and continuous improvement: Gather and synthesise client and internal feedback, run early rounds of feedback before launching products or features to users, and ensure important insights are communicated to the relevant teams. Identify opportunities to improve the product, client experience, and project delivery process.
• Strategic alignment: Understand the high-level company vision and goals and ensure these are reflected in project management, prioritisation, and client communication. Balance individual client requirements with broader product, technical, and company priorities.

• University qualification (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate) in Life Sciences, Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Relevant professional experience in project management, client management, or a related role, including experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, deliverables, and timelines.
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, research, or technology sectors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare and communicate client-facing and scientific/technical materials.
• Working knowledge or practical experience of AI and/or NLP, with sufficient technical understanding to work effectively with technical teams and explain relevant concepts to clients.
• Ability to understand product and technical concepts, including how user-facing products, backend systems, data, and architectural decisions may affect project delivery and client requirements.
