Job summary

Pontoon is seeking a Project Manager (Contract) to oversee phased delivery of banking initiatives. Based in Bristol Harbourside with hybrid on-site work, you will drive milestones, engage stakeholders, and align activities with programme objectives.

You will maintain the project plan in Jira/Excel, coordinate across business and technology teams, and contribute to risk management, reporting, and process redesign using BI dashboards and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in banking or similar industry.
• Proficiency with Jira and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and their banking applications.
• Excellent stakeholder communication across all levels.
• Experience in process redesign and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project plan with dependencies, milestones, and deliverables using Jira and Excel.
• Facilitate weekly progress meetings and escalate risks, issues, and decisions.
• Identify risks, issues, blockers; support RAID logs and mitigation.
• Produce high-quality status reports for governance forums.
• Support process redesign with current-state and future-state maps.
• Coordinate engagement across business and technology teams for seamless collaboration.
• Develop process tooling such as MI tools, Power BI dashboards, and Co-pilot tools.

Project Manager (Contract)

Duration: Up until 31/12/26 (Possibility for extension)

Location: Bristol Harbourside/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Salary or Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidates

As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the project Business Lead to oversee the phased delivery of critical initiatives. Your focus will be on executing key milestones, engaging effectively with stakeholders, and aligning all activities with the overarching programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Maintain and manage the project plan, including dependencies, milestones, and deliverables using JIRA and Excel.
• Facilitation: Facilitate weekly progress meetings, tracking actions and escalating risks, issues, and decisions as needed.
• Risk Analysis: Support the Business Lead in identifying, analysing, and resolving project risks, issues, and blockers.
• Reporting: Produce high-quality project status reports and management information for stakeholders and governance forums.
• RAID Logs: Maintain project RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) and assist in risk mitigation activities.
• Process Redesign: Support business process redesign activities, including process discovery, documentation, and the creation of current-state and future-state process maps.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and manage engagement across business and technology teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Tool Development: Support the creation of process tooling such as Reporting & MI tools, Power BI dashboards, and Microsoft Co-pilot tools.
• Optimisation Opportunities: Identify opportunities for future state process redesign, simplification, automation, and control optimisation.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in project management tools, particularly Jira and ServiceNow.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the banking sector or a similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of AI technologies and their application in banking.
• Excellent communicator, skilled at engaging stakeholders at all levels and fostering collaborative relationships.
• Capable of producing clear and concise documentation and reports that articulate project status and risks.
• Familiar with process redesign methodologies and tools, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement.
