At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Project Manager at our Glasgow site. As a key partner in the prestigious Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework—valued between £X million and £Y million—Cavendish is delivering critical upgrades to the Royal Navy’s infrastructure at HMNB Clyde.

This is a rare opportunity to lead high-impact projects within a collaborative alliance, shaping the future of national defence capabilities. With a legacy of excellence in nuclear engineering and a culture grounded in innovation, safety, and teamwork, Cavendish offers project managers the chance to work on some of the most complex and nationally significant programmes in the UK today.

The role

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  1. Act as the key interface with the customer, proactively managing project risks and ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place.
  2. Establish and uphold robust project governance, clearly defining roles and responsibilities in line with our Business Management System.
  3. Champion operational excellence by fostering employee engagement, driving continuous improvement, and embracing innovative technologies.
  4. Take full accountability for programme planning and financial performance (P&L), including monthly reporting and implementing corrective actions where needed.
  5. Lead the way in promoting a strong culture of Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality across all aspects of the project.

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, based in Glasgow, with hybrid working arrangements (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Essential experience of the Project Manager:

  • A strong track record of recent and relevant experience within a comparable environment or industry sector.
  • Proven expertise in a Project Management role, with the ability to lead complex, high-value programmes.
  • Solid understanding of contracting methodologies such as NEC4.
  • Comprehensive experience across the full project lifecycle—from bid and mobilisation through to delivery and close-out.

Qualifications for the Project Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project, or Construction Management (or equivalent).
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ).
  • NEC4 qualification; nuclear sector experience is a plus.
