As Project Manager, you will take ownership of the overall planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of multiple projects. Working closely with clients, internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will also support the sales team by contributing to bid submissions and helping secure future project opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and certification bodies.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Report project progress and **escalate** issues where necessary.
- Support tenders, bids, and future business opportunities in collaboration with the sales team.
- Ensure all work is delivered in line with company HSEQ policies and procedures.
Competence Requirements
You’ll have a proven track record of delivering engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering projects and be comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Project Manager role within heavy engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- Experience managing projects through a structured stage-gate or project execution framework.
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness, budgeting, and forecasting capability.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Qualification in Project Management or a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
Desirable
- Marine industry experience.
- Renewables experience, particularly offshore wind.
- Experience supporting nuclear construction projects.
- Understanding of modern manufacturing and welding techniques.
- Chartered APM status or working towards accreditation.
- Experience using SAGE 200.
