Job description

  • Project Manager - Manufacturing Engineering (Airbus, Filton)

Location: Filton, Bristol (60% onsite, flexible working)

Rate: £26.16/hr PAYE | £35.00/hr Umbrella

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (ITAR restrictions apply)

IR35 Status: Inside

Hours: 35 hours/week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)

We're on the lookout for a dynamic Project Manager to join the Manufacturing Engineering Wing Programme Management team at Airbus in Filton. This is a unique opportunity to lead a key work package within a multinational transformation project, helping shape the future of industrial systems and engineering excellence.

You'll be at the forefront of transitioning to a leaner industrial system, starting with the creation of a new product breakdown structure. Your leadership will drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead end-to-end project management across multi-functional and transnational teams.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Configuration, and more.
  • Prepare and present decision gate dossiers at key project milestones.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with certification, configuration management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and implement strategic plans, including risk management and mitigation.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, actionable plans for wider business understanding.
  • What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in project management within engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in preparing and delivering impactful presentations.
  • Comfortable working with Google Sheets and other collaborative tools.
  • Experience over formal qualifications - we value hands-on expertise.
  • Bonus Skills
  • Background in Manufacturing Engineering or Quality.
  • Understanding of matrix management structures.
  • PMO experience in other industries is transferable.
