Job summary

Vectis Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager for a global manufacturing group in Exeter. You will oversee planning, coordination and execution of engineering projects, ensuring successful New Product Introduction.

The role requires driving timelines, governance and regular reviews with customers and stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have proven PM experience in fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, automotive or defence, with PM qualifications (PMP/PRINCE2)

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Project Management position.
• Demonstrable experience leading complex large-scale projects.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, defence, etc).
• PM qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) preferred.
• Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and optimise delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness and use of technology to manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Plan, schedule and manage project timelines and milestones.
• Define objectives, milestones, deliverables and governance.
• Lead customer programme reviews and performance meetings.
• Coordinate production and supply chain inputs for demand clarity.
• Lead recovery plans for delays, capacity, quality, or supplier issues.
• Maintain visibility of critical path from demand to delivery.
• Coordinate internal and external resources and manage risks.

A global leading manufacturer of complex products supplied to the Aerospace, Automotive, Defence and High Technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Project Manager. Joining at a time of significant company investment and expansion, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of engineering projects across the site and ensuring successful New Product Introduction. Candidates are sought with proven project management experience gained in a fast-paced complex manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, defence, energy, etc)

The Role

• Lead the NPI process with a view to consistently looking for ways to improve.
• Plan, schedule and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
• Establish programme objectives, milestones, deliverables and governance arrangements.
• Lead regular customer programme reviews and performance meetings.
• Work closely with the production & supply chain teams to ensure customer demand is understood.
• Lead recovery plans for late deliveries, capacity constraints, quality issues and supplier delays.
• Maintain visibility of the critical path from customer demand through to final delivery.
• Co-ordinate internal and external resources.
• Manage risks & issues and escalat as required.
• Establish and maintain project governance.

The Person

• Proven experience in a Project Management position.
• Demonstrable experience leading complex large-scale projects.
• Previous experience working in a highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, defence, etc).
• Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) preferred.
• Ability to Understand and manage conflicting priorities in order to maximize success.
