Job description

Howdens are looking for a new Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver web development projects within the Digital & Business Systems department.

This is a full-time permanent role and the chance to be involved in some exciting fast-paced current and planned future projects. Working onsite in Raunds, Northamptonshire 4 days per week, you will collaborate with your team and the wider IT team(s) including internal teams and external suppliers.

What you will be doing
  • Deliver end-to-end Web Development Projects with a typical project lifecycle ranging from 3 to 12 months, with multiple releases/deployments expected.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to agreed scope, time, cost, and quality, while working within a hybrid waterfall-agile framework
  • Manage project budgets typically ranging from £50k to £500k
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Project Online, ensuring that project plans are in sync with Azure DevOps sprint planning
  • Manage dependencies, risks, issues, and changes proactively
  • Act as a bridge between governance and delivery, ensuring compliance with standards while working closely with senior developers and Scrum Masters to drive cohesion, consistency, and quality across the delivery process.
Requirements
  • Solid experience in a Project Management role or similar (e.g., Delivery Manager)
  • Be able to demonstrate your experience delivering digital development projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of hybrid waterfall-agile frameworks; DSDM experience is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project (enterprise/Online version preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (or similar tools such as JIRA).
  • Experience managing budgets of £50k-£500k.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing shared human resources.
  • Have communicated project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Build trust and maintained effective working relationships across technical and business teams.
  • AgilePM certification (or equivalent) preferred
