Role Overview:

Our client, a reputable traditional building contractor, is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee projects from start to finish, with autonomy and minimal red tape. The company specializes in varied projects including education, local authority, commercial, and industrial sectors, with project values ranging from £1m to £10m.

The Candidate:

Ideal candidates will have proven longevity in roles as Project or Contracts Managers across diverse sectors, managing projects up to £10m, with responsibilities including overseeing 2-3 smaller projects valued around £3-4m.

The Project:

Initial assignment involves managing Shell & Core works of an Industrial Warehouse (£5.5m), including shell, floor slabs, and external works. Subsequently, overseeing a project near Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending pre-tender and tender interviews
• Managing up to 2 sites
• Preparing tender submissions in collaboration with the estimating team
• Producing tender programmes using Microsoft Projects, Asta, or Commander
• Understanding of JCT D&B Contracts and Building Safety Act
• Implementing company and health & safety procedures
• Progress reporting and producing board reports
• Coordinating design teams and contractor packages

Candidates should demonstrate recent experience on similar schemes, with good all-round building experience on projects from £1m to £25m, including design & build projects. Prior stability with employers is valued.
