Job description

Carmichael are seeking a Project Manger to work on the AMP8 framework in East Sussex.

  • Treats and recycles wastewater from more than 4.7 million households
  • Manages a network of 53,470 km of clean and wastewater pipelines
  • Operates 458 water treatment works

Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Manage, support and develop the whole team to help achieve the best possible results for the project and employees.
  • Implement policies, procedures and standards, including health and safety to ensure the project is completed safely, on time, within budget forecast, and to required quality and environmental standards.
  • Work collaboratively with all teams, including the wider teams, clients, designers, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the project meets all objectives.
  • Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and report on project performance with respect to financial and programme targets
  • Provide leadership and direction for the team. Identify and develop talent. Create a positive and productive work environment that promotes culture.
  • Manage procurement process for all equipment, materials, and services, ensuring that budget and programme are met.
  • Lead, manage and develop a diverse team, ensure an open–door policy and encourage feedback.
  • Manage and monitor safety standards delivered by the team, including safety inspections and observations.
  • Manage project documentation and records, ensure that all regulations are met.

Desirable

  • Experience in working on a variety of projects in the Water sector.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of people including team members, clients, and leadership. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and open–minded to feedback and responses.
  • Experience in adapting to changes and work under pressure.
  • Understanding in health and safety regulations.
  • Good technical abilities in using various types of software.
  • Ability in demonstrating organisational skills and analytical approach.
  • Full driving licence
