Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is recruiting a Project Manager to lead delivery and management of project(s) at Westlakes, Cumbria. You will report to the Programme Manager and work on site, coordinating planning, budgeting and governance to drive successful outcomes.

The role requires strong experience in managing projects, cost control, resource allocation and risk assessment, with a focus on continuous improvement within the PMO team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 or more years of applicable project management experience (5+ years).
• Develop relationships with stakeholders in the client organisation and supply chain to achieve successful delivery.
• Analyse problems, establish facts and make decisions, whilst being able to assess a decision's risk profile for escalation or not.
• Knowledge and experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Planning, directing and coordinating the team’s activities to manage and implement project(s) from initiation to final closure.
• Determining and monitoring all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources and risk; identifying and assembling the appropriate blend of resources to meet the project(s) needs and requirements.
• Planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on activities related to the project(s).
• Adhering to the established Project Management processes and governance arrangements, ensuring these are cascaded throughout the project(s).
• Ensuring QA arrangements are in place to provide assurance that reporting and adherence to Management Systems is robust.
• Undertaking status review meetings on the project(s) for which you are accountable.
• Ensuring all reporting requirements are met for the project(s) including external reporting, internal reporting and Governance Reviews.
• Advising the Senior PM or Programme Manager (where applicable) on matters of escalation, major concerns, risks and opportunities within the project(s).
• Controlling project requirements, scope and change management issues (including approval of contract variations and early warnings within appropriate levels of authority).
• Actively promoting learning from experience and continuous improvement, working with the Head of Projects, Senior PMs and Programme Managers to identify and embed improvements within the PMO Team.

About The Role
