Job Description

We are working with an expanding principal contractor based in Crawley. They are looking for a Project Manager/Estimator. You will primarily be responsible for administering pre-construction professional services contracts and assisting within their estimating team to create estimates for a range of hot and cold rolled steel projects, varying in value from £50k to £5m.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with prospective clients to determine their pre-construction professional service requirements.
  2. Create estimates for pre-construction services, including soil, as-built and topographical surveys, architectural & planning services, civil, drainage & structural engineering, and building control.
  3. Work with the network of consultants to provide up-to-date pricing.
  4. Manage all live professional service contracts, including:
  • Diary management – booking consultants for site surveys.
  • Attending site meetings with consultants conducting surveys.
  • Following up on survey results & reports.
  • Communicating results to clients.
  • Managing payment plans for contracts, including deposits and completion payments.
  • Managing consultant payments upon service completion.
  • Estimating steel frame building projects, including groundwork & construction, using online software and Excel.
  • Be IT proficient, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with online project management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills within the office team and with clients.
  • Be a team player but also capable of working independently.
