About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of client and Sodexo-led projects at Merville Barracks, Colchester. This challenging and rewarding role involves taking ownership of projects from planning through to completion. You will work closely with contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery, balancing priorities and deadlines while maintaining operational continuity. Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of Sodexo and client-led projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Plan, procure, and coordinate all project, planned, and reactive maintenance activities, minimizing disruption and ensuring seamless service.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety legislation, site-specific rules, and Sodexo's quality and safety procedures.
  • Supervise contractors and subcontractors, reviewing RAMS, work permits, and on-site activities for safety and quality.
  • Act as an interface between Sodexo, RMPA (client), and their agents during design and construction phases, addressing lifecycle and maintenance issues.
  • Support estate operations management, integrating project activities into facilities management strategies.
  • Conduct asset and building condition surveys, maintain records, and update maintenance systems.
  • Ensure proper project documentation, including plans, specifications, and cost tracking.
  • Develop tender documentation, participate in evaluations, and support contractor mobilization.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, providing financial reports and forecasts.
  • Phase lifecycle and project works aligned with client needs to minimize service impact.
  • Analyze inspection and maintenance data to inform lifecycle strategies.
  • Perform post-completion inspections and audits for quality and compliance.
  • Share project information with stakeholders promptly and accurately.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and compliance.
  • Maintain communication with RMPA, MoD, and Sodexo regarding project and lifecycle matters.
  • Recommend updates to maintenance and asset care post-project.
  • Support the Contract Manager in project delivery and contract performance.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven project management experience, preferably in facilities management.
  • Background in construction and maintenance operations.
  • Strong supply chain management skills.
  • IT proficiency, especially MS Office.
  • Relevant qualifications such as HNC, degree, or equivalent in related fields.
  • Experience managing budgets and project finance.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, NEBOSH or IOSH certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
