Overview

We are urgently seeking a Facilities Management (FM) Engineer to provide cover for a 10–week period, primarily responsible for fabric management including fire door oversight. The role involves supporting the delivery of a fire door project, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards. The successful candidate will act as a covering FM, managing the fabric of the building with a strong focus on fire door management. This position requires a practical and technical understanding of fabric maintenance and fire safety regulations. The role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexibility offered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the covering FM with responsibility for fabric maintenance, including fire doors.
  • Support the delivery and management of the fire door project over 12 weeks.
  • Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs related to building fabric and fire doors.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety standards and technical requirements.
  • Demonstrate practical skills and technical knowledge in fabric and fire door management.
  • Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fire door management and fabric maintenance.
Skills
  • Proven experience in fabric management within FM.
  • Demonstrable expertise in fire door management.
  • Experience working on fire door or similar fabric–related projects.
  • Strong practical skills combined with technical understanding of fire safety requirements.
