Project Manager - Private Banking Transformation
Fixed-Term Contract - 12 Month Maternity Cover
To work with Singapore PMO to coordinate work streams progress / ensure timely delivery / resolution of issues in order to deliver a strategic transformation project within the UK Private Banking division. The project aims to transition the business from its current focus on non-advisory services for professional clients to a broader service model that includes advisory and order execution capabilities, with a proposed expanded client base including retail clients.
This maternity cover position will require the successful candidate to coordinate all aspects of the project end-to-end, working closely with internal stakeholders across multiple functions and locations, as well as with external advisors. A key focus will be ensuring compliance with MiFID II and other relevant regulatory requirements throughout the transformation.
There is additionally a requirement to support the PB Business Management (BMS) team, where required, in BAU activities, mainly preparing and presenting relevant data/MI/reporting to Senior Management.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end delivery of the Private Banking transformation programme.
- Drive project planning, scoping, resource allocation, timelines, and budget control.
Stakeholder and Advisor Liaison
- Serve as the key point of contact in London for internal stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, Risk, Front Office, Operations, and Technology.
- Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of the gap analysis and other strategic inputs.
Regulatory Compliance and Governance
- Assist to ensure the project remains fully compliant with MiFID II and all relevant UK/EU regulatory standards.
- Assist to translate regulatory requirements into actionable business and operational changes.
Cross-Regional Coordination
- Act as the primary project interface between teams in London and Singapore, ensuring consistent communication and collaboration.
Workstream Oversight
- Oversee and manage multiple concurrent workstreams, aligning deliverables with project milestones and strategic objectives.
- Monitor progress, identify dependencies, and adjust plans as needed to maintain project momentum.
Implementation Execution
- Oversee the implementation of changes and solutions arising from the gap analysis conducted by external consultants.
- Ensure business readiness and support change management activities across impacted teams.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare and present regular progress updates, risk assessments, and project reports to senior management and governance forums.
Risk and Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues promptly, escalating where necessary

- Proven experience in leading strategic change initiatives within private banking or wealth management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate with senior leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and diplomatic approach.
- Experience in managing complex, cross-functional and cross-regional projects.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Resilience and adaptability in navigating regulatory and business change environments.
- Understanding of MiFID II requirements, particularly as they apply to private banking services, advisory models, and retail client classifications.
- Knowledge of UK/EU regulatory frameworks governing financial institutions and private banking operations.
- Experience implementing regulatory change projects, including translating gap analysis findings into functional business solutions.
- Familiarity with private banking systems, client onboarding processes, and compliance reporting tools is advantageous.
- Ability to oversee technical implementations or liaise effectively with technology teams on regulatory and business requirements.
