Job summary

Freedom is seeking a Project Manager for Cable Engineering (Asset) in the North-East England region. Lead Asset Replacement projects, ensuring safe, compliant delivery and strong client relations with Northern Powergrid.

You will oversee a multidisciplinary team and drive performance across KPIs, with a focus on HSQE compliance and efficient project handover. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior operational role within cable installation, utilities, or power distribution.
• Knowledge of LV/HV cable networks, ideally in a DNO environment.
• Strong leadership, client management, and commercial awareness.
• NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• A full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations for Asset Replacement work, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Lead a team of Field Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers and Operatives.
• Act as primary contact with Northern Powergrid and manage client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with HSQE policies and legal requirements.
• Manage multiple projects from planning to energisation and handover.
• Allocate resources and monitor KPI performance.
• Ensure timely submission of documentation and stakeholder communications.

Are you ready to take the lead in an exciting opportunity with Freedom? We are looking for a passionate Project Manager to spearhead our Cable Engineering Services contract with Northern Powergrid, focusing on Asset Replacement. In this role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of projects across the region.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will:

• Oversee day-to-day operations for Asset Replacement work, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Lead and inspire a dynamic team of Field Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, and Operatives.
• Act as the primary point of contact with Northern Powergrid, fostering strong client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with HSQE policies and legal requirements.
• Manage multiple projects from planning to energisation and handover.
• Allocate resources effectively and monitor performance against KPIs.
• Ensure timely submission of documentation and maintain communication with stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

We seek candidates who possess:

• Experience in a senior operational role within cable installation, utilities, or power distribution.
