Job summary

Ascendion seeks a Project Manager/Technical Program Manager to translate business strategy into actionable work programs and oversee IT and client/business initiatives. The role involves direct leadership of a specialty function or senior team members.

Candidates should have extensive experience in cross-border payments, regulatory change, and end-to-end delivery within financial services, with PMP/PgMP certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Total experience of at least 9 years.
• At least 2 years as a Technical Program Manager or Project Manager.
• At least 2 years as a programmer or analyst/designer in a financial environment.
• Experience delivering cross-border and international payments initiatives in regulated banking or financial services.
• Strong background in managing regulatory change and complex payments transformation programs.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Project Manager will translate business strategy into work programs and processes, providing strategic and tactical direction on IT and client/business area issues. This role involves direct management of a specialty function or leadership of lower-level managers/team leaders.

Experience

• Minimum of 9 years of total experience.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Technical Program Manager / Project Manager.
• Minimum of 2 years as a programmer or analyst/designer in a financial environment.

Preferred Skills / Candidate Focus

• Proven experience delivering Cross-Border and International Payments initiatives within regulated banking or financial services environments.
• Strong background in managing regulatory change and complex payments transformation programs.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Business teams.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder landscapes and driving successful end-to-end payment delivery.
• Knowledge of payment schemes and standards such as SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, CHAPS, Faster Payments, or similar is highly desirable.

Industry Knowledge

• Experience with Treasury Services / Investment Banking processes and products.
• Experience with Payments within Banking (SEPA, SWIFT, ChAPS, RTP)
• Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or similar certifications.
