Job description

Join us as a Project Manager within our Topside division in Chester. This role involves the planning, coordination, and delivery of blade-related projects across offshore and onshore environments.

OEG is a leading energy solutions business, providing mission-critical infrastructure assets and services to the global offshore energy industry. Through our specialist divisions - topside, marine, subsea, logistics and industrials, we are a pivotal link in the global offshore energy project chain, ensuring our customers’ projects are delivered safely, reliably and efficiently.

To lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of blade-related projects across offshore and onshore environments. The Project Manager will ensure all projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations and company objectives. This includes oversight of engineering design, execution, personnel planning, and budgetary control, while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Lead the execution of blade inspection, repair, and upgrade projects in accordance with HSEQ standards and client requirements.

Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and resource efficiency.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and resolving issues promptly.

Ensure all project deliverables, documentation, and reports are completed to a high standard and submitted in line with contractual timelines.

Oversee project budgets and financial performance, ensuring profitability and cost control.

Implement and uphold company Safety Management Systems on all sites.

Conduct and verify project risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place.

Manage the mobilisation and competence assurance of project personnel, including contractors.

Liaise with internal departments (e.g. HSEQ, HR, Crewing, Procurement) to align project delivery with company policy.

Engage with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quality standards and verification processes are applied.

Provide regular project status updates to the Operations Director and other key stakeholders.

Promote a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

Required:

Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering or operations within the renewables or energy sector.

At least 2 years’ experience in a project management role.

Strong working knowledge of relevant UK legislation and industry standards.

Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools.

Experience in blade repair, composites, or wind turbine systems

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification (QCF Level 6 or higher) in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.

PRINCE2, APM, or similar project management certification.
