Renewables Project Manager (Renewables / Heat Pumps)

Chelmsford-based, covering Essex & surrounding areas

A fast-growing renewables business is looking for an experienced and proactive Renewables Project Manager to join their leadership team and take full ownership of the successful delivery of domestic heat pump installations across Essex and surrounding areas.

Known for their strong technical standards and commitment to customer satisfaction, the company is scaling rapidly and this role is key to ensuring operational excellence as they grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing end-to-end delivery of air source heat pump (ASHP) projects
  • Managing engineers, subcontractors, and supplier coordination
  • Conducting site surveys, risk assessments, and quality checks
  • Ensuring compliance with MCS, H&S, and all relevant technical standards
  • Planning and allocating resources across multiple live sites
  • Monitoring KPIs including installation quality, customer satisfaction, and job margins
  • Reporting to the senior leadership team with updates and improvement initiatives
  • Continuously refining processes, documentation, and operational workflows

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing HVAC or renewable contracts (ideally ASHP)
  • Strong technical understanding of domestic heating and retrofit environments
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with digital project tools and site reporting
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

Bonus Points For

  • Knowledge of MCS / RECC / TrustMark compliance
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, Retrofit Coordinator, PRINCE2)
  • Experience supporting operational scale-up in a growing company
