Qualifications

  • Mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung im Projektmanagement, vorzugsweise im humanitären oder gemeinnützigen Sektor.

Here at Human Appeal UK, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team based at our Cheadle Office. The role requires you to be in the office full time. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year term. In return, you will receive a salary of £34,000 to £40,000.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs, and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

The Project Manager will lead projects within the Global Communications department, ensuring successful content acquisition, team coordination, and project delivery. This position demands excellent leadership, strategic planning, problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of communications and media processes within humanitarian or non-profit contexts.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of content-related projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and scope objectives.
  • Oversee and collaborate with internal teams (Digital Marketing, PR, Programme Leads) and regional teams for smooth content acquisition and alignment with communication strategies.
  • Manage freelancers by developing project briefs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely, high-quality content delivery.
  • Define project objectives aligned with communication goals, shaping storylines and narratives for media platforms.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues promptly, and ensure contingencies to prevent delays.
  • Ensure all content and deliverables meet quality standards and brand guidelines; review freelancer and regional work.
  • Track budgets, allocate resources, and provide financial updates to senior management.
  • Serve as the main contact for senior management, partners, and clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Stay updated on current events to ensure content relevance, especially for emergency communications.
  • Continuously improve project workflows for increased efficiency.

What we’re looking for in a Project Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Project Management, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in project management, preferably in humanitarian or non-profit sectors.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partners effectively.
  • Content Management: Expertise in content acquisition, media project planning, and quality control.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and project management tools like Asana, Trello, or similar.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; additional languages like Arabic are a plus.
  • Proactivity: Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in driving projects and improvements.
