Job summary

Bidwells in Cambridge seeks a driven Project Manager with proven delivery across real estate sectors to manage multiple projects for prestigious clients, focusing on life science, technology and advanced manufacturing. You will lead planning, contract administration, client liaison, risk and budget management, and ensure projects run from inception to completion with high service standards.

Ideal candidates will have MRICS or equivalent, be skilled in MS Project, and hold a full UK driving

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver projects, commissions and professional assignments.
  • Lead as a project manager on one or more projects with supervision as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication for successful project completion.
  • Manage contracts, budget, and forecasting; report progress and outcomes.
  • Develop project programmes, scopes and client briefs; build relationships with clients.
  • Travel to client sites with a UK driving licence.

Job description

Due to continued success and growth, Bidwells has created a fantastic new opportunity for a driven Project Manager for our Cambridge office, who has proven experience and success in various sectors within real estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects for several prestigious Cambridge clients and will be expected to generate a high standard of service delivery and achieve successful outcomes. This particular role will focus primarily on working in the life science, technology and advanced manufacturing sectors, where we have an established presence and high-quality clients. The role will have an opportunity to work in other established sectors such as Colleges and Defence. The Project Management team provides the management of development and construction projects to ensure they run efficiently and effectively. Services include advising clients on project viability design solutions, contractor appointment, consultant selection, tendering, quality and budget management to ensure a project is procured from inception to completion with maximum client satisfaction. What will you do?

  • Planning & Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments
  • Delivering as a leading project manager on a or several projects
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion
  • Undertaking project management services with limited supervision
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Undertaking project financial management, fee forecasting and reporting
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
  • Report writing and interpreting reports on work in progress.
  • Develop project programmes and project execution plans.
  • Develop client briefs and definition of project scope. Fully understand clients' needs, requirements, business drivers, teams and processes.
  • Client and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Make timely decisions to facilitate and deliver projects whilst still maintaining the integrity of the project and the client's objectives.
  • Manage contracts and contract administration.
  • Network internally and externally.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant project management standards and all regulations/legislation affecting the technical aspects of construction and share information where appropriate.
    The successful candidate for this Project Manager role will ideally have considerable experience of managing and delivering multiple projects at the same time in a similar private sector, professional consultancy.

You will ideally have a RICS accredited degree in project management, building surveying, construction management, architecture, or closely connected subject. MRICS or equivalent from a chartered industry body is desirable. If you are an accredited NEC Project Manager or have NEC experience, this will be advantageous but not essential. You will ideally be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project. You will have strong negotiation, networking, communication, presentation, organisation and time management skills, and be a proactive, attentive team player. You will need a full UK driving licence to travel to client sites not easily accessible by the public transport network.
