The Role

As a Project Manager, you’ll take a leading role in delivering complex engineering projects that directly contribute to national security. You’ll be part of an established Integrated Project Team, responsible for the design, development, qualification, and delivery of major subsystems. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing the full lifecycle of engineering projects from concept to delivery.
  • Coordinating cost, time, and quality requirements across delivery teams.
  • Supporting requirement capture, scoping, and proposal development.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Mission Systems and wider Babcock teams.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience of the Project Manager
  • Applying project management techniques in technical environments.
  • Demonstrating strong commercial awareness and contract management understanding.
  • Leading smaller projects independently and supporting larger programmes.
  • Working within defence or engineering sectors (preferred but not essential).
Qualifications for the Project Manager

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Ideally the successful candidate would need to achieve Security Check (SC) security clearance to support across the business functions.
