Job summary

Sustainable Building Services in the Midlands is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead social housing retrofit schemes and drive decarbonisation initiatives across residences. You will oversee site teams, budgets and programme delivery, ensuring stringent standards are met.

The role focuses on coordinating with clients, suppliers and multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality retrofits on time and within budget, supporting the company's expansion across the UK.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years construction experience
  • Experience managing Social Housing/Energy Efficiency schemes
  • Strong leadership and ability to mentor teams

Responsibilities

  • Set up projects: allocate site team, handover from estimating, budgets, programmes.
  • Manage Site Managers, Site Supervisors, Tenants Liaison Officers and operatives.
  • Lead regular team briefings to communicate priorities and milestones.
  • Ensure sites are adequately resourced and supply chain aligned with contracts.
  • Monitor supply chain performance and report regularly.
  • Ensure properties meet retrofit standards and deadlines.

Due to our exciting growth plans, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the Company’s ambitious expansion plans in the Midlands Region as we continue to build teams across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Manage setting up each project, from allocating the site team, handover from estimating, agreeing budgets, reviewing retrofit information, sub-con procurement & formulating programmes.
  • Day to day management of Site Managers, Site Supervisors, Tenants Liaison Officers and any Site Operatives under your control.
  • Hold regular team briefings (formal and informal) to ensure that staff are kept informed of Programme priorities, changes and to review key project milestones.
  • Ensure all sites are adequately resourced, both from a company perspective and the supply chain.
  • Monitor the performance of the supply chain on a regular basis, ensuring all supply chain members are adhering to their programme and contractual requirements.
  • Attend regular operations meetings and produce necessary reports.
  • Ensure all properties are completed to the required contract specification standards and all retrofit compliance requirements are adhered to in order that all properties are lodged in line with client deadlines.
Skills
  • High level of leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and mentor.
  • Ability to plan and organise resources to meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality standards.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Experience of retrofit process, from assessments, designs and lodgements.

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid
  • NVQ L7 Diploma in Construction Senior Management (Desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely (Desirable)
  • Full UK Driving License
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years Construction experience
  • Prior Experience of managing Social Housing/Energy Efficiency schemes
