Gleeds has been successful in securing a number of major projects and programmes within the public and central government sectors to support providing professional services.

We have exciting opportunities for Project Managers from Assistant to Associate Director level to join our team in Birmingham. You will work within a sociable environment and be part of a dynamic Project Management team. Your responsibilities will include managing the delivery of large-scale new build projects and extensive CAT A, B, and C fit-out works across various locations in the Midlands Region. You will communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, programme leads, client representatives, consultants, and contractors to deliver projects from inception to completion.

About The Role
About this opportunity

Gleeds has secured significant projects within the public and central government sectors. We are looking for Project Managers from Assistant to Associate Director level to join our Birmingham office. Responsibilities include managing large-scale projects, ensuring effective communication, and delivering quality outcomes.

To be considered, candidates should have experience in construction project management, preferably with public and government clients, and must be a British National (British Citizen from birth) for security clearance purposes. Existing SC clearance is preferred but can be obtained during onboarding.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering objectives
  • Engaging with customers and maintaining relationships
  • Delivering high-quality services and outputs
  • Managing projects and programmes according to procedures
  • Administering contracts as a contract administrator, employer’s agent, or project manager
  • Producing and presenting reports to clients
  • Mentoring and coaching team members
  • Preparing bids for services
  • Managing service delivery profitably
  • Advising directors on project issues, especially those affecting professional indemnity insurance

Experience, Knowledge, and Key Skills
  • Post-qualification project or programme management experience
  • Knowledge of project management techniques
  • Ability to administer construction contracts
  • Understanding of legislation affecting building contracts
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Ability to analyze complex information
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and financial skills
  • Proficiency in ICT, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work and manage teams
Qualifications
  • MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or NEC 4 Practitioner (or in progress)
