adi Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead automation and control systems projects from concept to handover. You will travel to client sites across the North of England, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver on time, within budget and to high standards.

Based out of the Wirral office, the role requires strong planning, commercial awareness and excellent client engagement. A proactive, hands-on leader who can manage contracts and drive project success is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing automation, control systems or industrial engineering projects.
• Experience managing projects from initial client requirements through to completion.
• Strong project planning, organisation and commercial awareness.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
• A willingness to travel regularly to client sites across the North.

Responsibilities

• Manage automation and control systems projects from concept to completion.
• Act as main point of contact for clients and manage expectations.
• Coordinate forms of contract including NEC and JCT and deliver plans.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
• Coordinate engineering, design, software, electrical and commissioning teams.
• Manage project scope, risks, variations, costs and change control.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet client requirements and standards.
• Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and support reporting.
• Coordinate FAT, installation, commissioning and final handover.
• Ensure projects meet health, safety, quality and engineering standards.

Location – Client sites across the North of England (Based out of Wirral Office)

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing automation team. You will take responsibility for managing automation and control systems projects from initial client requirements through to successful delivery and handover.

Working closely with clients and our multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required project form of contract and quality standards.

This is a varied, hands‑on role involving regular travel to client sites across the North, with projects spanning sectors including food, beverage, chemical, marine and materials handling.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing automation and control systems projects from concept through to completion.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and managing expectations.
• Managing forms of contract including NEC and JCT.
• Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
• Coordinating engineering, design, software, electrical and commissioning teams.
• Managing project scope, risks, variations, costs and change control.
• Working with clients to understand requirements and ensure the delivered solution meets expectations.
• Monitoring project progress and providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting quotations, cost control and project reporting.
• Coordinating FAT, installation, commissioning and final handover.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with relevant health, safety, quality and engineering standards.

About You

• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients.
• A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
• A willingness to travel regularly to client sites across the North.
