A leading facilities management company in Bellshill is seeking an experienced Projects Manager to oversee construction projects across Scotland. The role requires at least 5 years of project management experience, a strong capability in client relationship management, and a recognized qualification in Project Management. Successful candidates will manage projects valued up to £2,000,000 and ensure compliance with industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years proven Project Management experience in an M&E, FM, construction, or critical environment.
  • End to end project management experience from development through to completion.
  • Understanding of industry methodologies like Prince2, MAPM, RIBA.

Job description

We are recruiting for a leading facilities management company committed to delivering high-quality services to their clients across various sectors. Their team in Bellshill is currently looking for an experienced Projects Manager to join them.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for delivering a variety of Project Works on our customers sites across Scotland.
  • Have full accountability and responsibility for managing and delivery of multiple Project works ranging in value up to £2,000,000.
  • Delivery of a variety of project work opportunities from within MTS Scotland predominantly working on the Wheatley group contract.
  • Consult with key clients and their stakeholders on project requirements and explain feasibility of their schemes to become a trusted advisor.
  • Work with the client to clearly define their brief and develop and agree their Employers Requirements.
  • Work with consultants, specialists, designers, and sub-contractors (as required) to define and document clear and concise scope(s) of work(s) under an Activity Schedule.
  • Develop and understand the full scope of works in line with the desired project outcomes and business case, within agreed budget requirements, risk profile, and satisfy business objectives in terms of profitability.
  • Collaborate with commercial colleagues to ensure detailed and compliant tender processes, outcomes and presentations are in place for onward governance.
  • Work within the current CDM regulations, taking on the role of client representative, ensuring appropriate appointments are made and management of PC & PD to ensure they are discharging appropriate duties.
  • Identify, reduce, and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project being led.
  • Ensure SHEQ practices and processes are embedded within development and delivery of each project, including Management Safety Visits to agreed levels and full compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Production and management of the project programme, ensuring compliance to agreed timescales and management of slippage and risks.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) end to end, driving the project through to successful completion with effective management of resources and support functions.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and innovation in project solutions throughout the project lifecycle, deconflicting and de-risking delivery to offer the best possible quality to the client and stakeholders.
  • Ensure customer acceptance is adhered to, in writing and in line with the project plans.
  • Mutually agree payment schedules and applications for payment to benefit the project and the business.
Building Relationships
  • Build strong effective working relationships with our clients, customers, and site teams.
  • Manage supply partners in compliance with procurement requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal support functions to ensure they are undertaking core duties and providing necessary outputs.
  • Commercial Awareness: Understand the project level commercials, i.e., costs and revenue for each project, ensure financial objectives are met in terms of contribution of margin, and ensure sub-contractor accounts are valued with reflective cost coverages.
  • Ensure projects are commercially viable and satisfy the commercial terms of the contract.
  • Ensure all projects are managed through Company policies and procedures in relation to commercial activities.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years proven Project Management experience in an M&E, FM, construction, or critical environment.
  • End to end project management experience from development through to completion.
  • Understanding of industry methodologies e.g., Prince2, MAPM, RIBA, etc.
Qualifications
  • CDM awareness.
  • Recognised technical qualification (or considerable experience 5 years+) in management, construction, M&E or similar.
  • Business standard of written and verbal literacy and numeracy.
  • NEBOSH.
  • IOSH Managing Safely and/or SMSTS.
  • Recognised qualification in Project Management.
