PROJECT MANAGER – IT CHANGE AND TRANSFORMATION

Location: Solihull

Salary: £65,000 per annum

Hybrid working: 3 days office | 2 days home

This permanent Project Manager post, based in Balsall, sits within IT change and transformation for a key client of Pertemps West Midlands & Worcestershire Perm Hub. The successful candidate takes ownership of complex technology-led projects, building structure and momentum from initial scoping through to implementation. Working across technology, operations and the wider business, the postholder manages multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and dependencies, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, quality, budget and timescales. Strong planning, communication and risk management skills are essential. Hybrid working applies: three days in the office, two from home. Salary ranges from £60,000 to £70,000 per annum, plus benefits, on a full time, permanent contract.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT change and transformation projects
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success measures
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones and delivery roadmaps
• Manage budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies
• Coordinate internal teams, technical specialists and third-party suppliers
• Establish effective governance, reporting and decision-making processes
• Produce clear and concise updates for senior stakeholders and governance forums
• Identify delivery risks early and take decisive action to address them
• Manage changes to scope, timelines and priorities
• Hold stakeholders, delivery teams and suppliers accountable for agreed actions
• Translate technical requirements and challenges into clear business language
• Ensure solutions are operationally ready and effectively embedded
• Support stakeholder engagement, communication and business change activity

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a strong, delivery-focused Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully managing complex IT change and transformation projects. You will be comfortable working with senior leaders, operational teams, technology specialists and external partners. You will bring clarity to ambiguity, remain composed under pressure and have the confidence to challenge decisions or behaviours that could put delivery at risk. You will combine robust project governance with a pragmatic and commercially aware approach. Most importantly, you will take ownership and be personally driven to deliver tangible results.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Significant experience delivering complex IT, technology or digital change projects
• Proven experience managing projects from initiation through to implementation
• Experience managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders and dependencies
• Excellent project planning, governance and delivery-management skills
• Strong risk, issue, dependency and change-control management
• Experience managing budgets, resources and project financials
• Confidence producing and presenting project updates to senior stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
• Experience managing technology suppliers and third-party delivery partners
• Ability to challenge constructively and drive accountability
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making under pressure
• Experience supporting business readiness, implementation and change adoption
• A delivery-led mindset with excellent organisation and attention to detail

DESIRABLE

• PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, Scrum or equivalent project management qualification
• Experience delivering large-scale business or technology transformation
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Planner, Jira or similar tools
• Experience within recruitment, professional services or a multi-site organisation
• Change management experience or a recognised change qualification
