My growing Defence client is looking for a Junior Project Manager

Ideally, you will have experience working within the defence environment. Appreciation of manufacturing/engineering is desired but not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Project Manager/Project Support Analyst looking for that next step within a high-tech focused defence company.

Note: This role requires candidates to have or be able to achieve SC security clearance.

Role Purpose

To lead the interface with the customer and manage the successful delivery of allocated projects in line with the agreed scope, internal and customer costs, and schedule targets, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and requirements.

What you will be doing:

1. Manage small projects and lead the project team through all phases of the product/project lifecycle, from mobilisation to design, manufacture, and in-service support, ensuring successful delivery in accordance with statutory, contractual, and company requirements.
2. Coordinate with and manage subcontractors and suppliers, in conjunction with procurement, to ensure standards are met and deliverables are achieved.
3. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations, clarify issues, and identify and manage risks and opportunities.
4. Collaborate with the customer to meet dependencies, communicate project issues, provide timely reports, and ensure deliverables are met to enable payment.
5. Oversee the project schedule, define responsibilities, align budgets, and report progress to facilitate reliable delivery forecasts and profitability predictions.
6. Develop and monitor reports related to project progress, including governance, technical, schedule, cost, risk, and resource aspects, to keep stakeholders informed.
7. Manage project budgets, conduct reviews, and realignments as necessary, balancing risks for cost-effective delivery.
8. Advise and support management, employees, and stakeholders on project progress to ensure successful monitoring, control, and delivery.
9. Manage, coach, and motivate the project team to support professional development and optimize service delivery.
10. Plan resource demands across multiple projects to support the scope of work and schedule.
11. Coordinate dependencies with other projects and the customer to ensure optimal delivery.
12. Identify new business opportunities and collaborate with the business development team to grow the business.
