Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Manager with extensive experience in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industry on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role is based in Aberdeen with hybrid working, requiring 3 days per week in the Aberdeen office.

Responsibilities

  • Create delivery excellence across assigned project/portfolio, providing certainty and confidence to the customer/project sponsor, with robust control of scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
  • Coordinate the implementation and completion of projects or project components, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets are met, managing associated risks, and maintaining customer relationships and governance.

Our Aberdeen Engineering hub is experiencing significant growth, handling multidiscipline work across various clients, from minor modifications to large projects, covering all project lifecycle phases including front end studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, EPCC, and Decommissioning. We are also advancing studies on electrification and decarbonisation projects.

Responsibilities

Project Execution

  • Manage P&L responsibilities, including revenue, margins, budgets, and risk reviews
  • Contribute to project proposals and planning, resource allocation, and scope management
  • Negotiate scope changes, follow change management processes
  • Drive innovation through digitalisation and technology use
  • Establish project procedures and lead the creation of project execution plans
  • Report progress regularly to management and clients
  • Ensure timely delivery within budget and schedule
  • Lead and ensure team competence and safety standards
  • Promote risk mitigation and quality assurance
  • Manage information systems and participate in peer reviews

Leadership

  • Model ethical behaviour and compliance
  • Oversee proposals and contracts within delegation
  • Mentor and empower team members

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent preferred
  • Extensive project management experience in relevant industry
  • Strong understanding of project management practices and business issues
  • Knowledge of risk, quality assurance, and contract management
  • Experience with project scheduling, monitoring, and change control
  • Ability to manage project information and close-out activities
